In the United Nations, there are many committees, each of which has a different focus. Some of these committees include the Disarmament and International Security Committee, the Economic and Financial Committee, and the Social, Humanitarian, & Cultural Issues Committee. In order for you to discuss a position or solve a problem, you need to know which committee it relates to. When you pick a committee, keep in mind the issues that each committee addresses. Once you pick a committee, you can research the committee to have a deeper understanding of what the committee does in the United Nations to solve problems. Although research of your committee is not mandatory, it is recommended.
